We’ve joined these two huge industries to create a unique shopping experience. In addition to fashion apparel and accessories, you will appreciate shopping for bath, body and spa, home and wall décor.
Apricot Lane retail boutiques are supported by the franchise company Country Visions. Former firefighters and furniture retailers Ken Petersen and Tom Brady opened their first retail gift store in August 1991 at Vacaville, California under the name Country Clutter.
We built our store around traditional themes and a cozy home-like environment. It was a hit from the start and in less than two years, the Petersen-Brady partners established a second and third store and began plans to franchise the concept. It was at this time that Scott Jacobs joined the partnership.
Over the years, Country Clutter broadened their merchandise mix into fashion accessories. In 2007, Country Visions introduced the first franchised women's fashion and gift boutique, Apricot Lane.
Today, we support 123 current and planned Apricot Lane stores through 2013 and plan to open 30-40 stores per year. Led by the founding partners and our experienced staff, Country Visions is dedicated to the strength of its brands and to the success of every franchisee.
In the spring of 2008 the prestigious International Council of Shopping Centers Association (ICSC) voted Apricot Lane as the Hot Retail Concept for Fashion. ICSC has a membership of more than 70,000 who cast votes for this award. See the video clip of the presentation here.
Entrepreneur Magazine listed Apricot Lane in March 2008 as one of the Top 50 Hot Franchises of the year. Apricot Lane has also earned a spot on Entrepreneur Magazine’s famous annual Top 500 List (published each January) in 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012. A feature story on Apricot Lane appeared in the March 2012 edition, see the article here.
Our common cause is to fight against sex trafficking around the world. We will not accept the status quo. We will not accept evils that we do not agree with. We will not close our eyes and pretend it doesn’t exist or affect us. Sex trafficking is not just a third world problem - it is in our backyards.
3Strands was created to support organizations already engaged in the fight against sex trafficking. We began by partnering with Agape International Missions (AIM) www.agapewebsite.org to open training centers in Cambodia for girls rescued from sex trafficking and restored through AIM's proven program. Girls rescued from sex trafficking need well paying, sustainable jobs so they can reintegrate back into their community with honor and dignity. The Agape Training Center (ATC) is a small jewelry and apparel production center unlike any we know of in the world. Instead of the typical 12-hour shift in horrible working conditions, the girls attend the ATC 8 hours a day. During that time, they receive counseling and educational services as well as lunch and medical benefits. Their salaries are 3 – 4 times higher than what the typical garment factory pays. This is a community, built upon respect and compassion for one another and the feeling of a family environment is what surrounds you when you visit the center.
